What we do

Patios, paths and paving, laid properly

We lay porcelain and natural stone patios, garden paths, steps and paving across Newbury, West Berkshire, North Hampshire and South Oxfordshire. Every job starts with proper ground preparation and a solid sub-base, because that's what keeps a patio level and draining well.

Why porcelain

Why choose a porcelain patio?

Low maintenance

Porcelain is dense and non-porous, so it doesn't need sealing. A sweep and an occasional wash keep it looking clean.

Resists stains and frost

Its very low water absorption helps it shrug off spills, algae and frost better than many natural stones.

Holds its colour

The colour is fired into the tile, so it doesn't fade in the sun the way some stone and concrete slabs can.

Slip-resistant finishes

Outdoor porcelain comes with textured, slip-rated surfaces made for patios, paths and steps.

FAQs

Patio questions

How long does it take to lay a patio?

It depends on the size of the patio and how much ground preparation is needed. A small, straightforward patio can take a few days, while larger areas, or sites that need digging out and levelling, take longer. We'll give you a realistic timescale when we quote.

How do I look after a porcelain patio?

Porcelain is easy to care for. Sweep it regularly and wash it down with warm water and a mild detergent when it needs it. It doesn't need sealing, and a stiff brush deals with most marks. Avoid harsh acid cleaners and keep the joints clear of weeds.

Porcelain or natural stone: which should I choose?

Both look great. Porcelain is uniform, low maintenance and resists stains, so it suits a clean, modern look. Natural stone such as sandstone has more natural variation and character but usually needs more looking after. We're happy to talk through the options for your garden.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes. Send us a few photos and rough measurements through our quote form and we can often give you an idea of cost. For bigger jobs we'll arrange a visit to measure up properly before giving you a written quote.

What affects the price of a patio?

The main things are the size of the area, access to your garden, how much ground preparation is needed, the paving you choose and the type of edging, such as sleepers or brick. Your written quote shows what's included.
